Paul Ahern

Paul Ahern began his real estate career working at Location Matters as the company’s first hire after inception. While specializing in sales and leasing of restaurant/hospitality related real estate and businesses, Paul quickly became one of the main driving forces behind the company’s success with his expertise in real estate, leasing, business sale transactions, alcohol licensing, and intimate understanding of various dining and nightlife markets.

Throughout his career in commercial real estate, Paul has been involved in retail and restaurant related sales and leasing transactions valued at over $60,000,000 on behalf of Landlords and Tenants. Described as an edgy, enthusiastic player who is always willing to go above and beyond; Paul attributes his accomplishments and success to his passion for helping others, competitive nature, strong client orientation, and dedication to always maintaining the highest level of integrity in both business and personal affairs.

Raised By Wolves - Represented Consortium Holdings on new vintage spirit shop/reservation-only cocktail bar concept at Westfield UTC's $600M expansion. Named as one of Esquire Magazine's "Best Bars in America".
Square One Concepts - Represented Arizona based hospitality group in expansion of Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers concept in Carlsbad Village and the Historic Gaslamp District.
The Holding Company - Represented the proprietors of OB Noodle House & Skrewball Whiskey on an owner/user purchase of former cocktail lounge in Ocean Beach.
Black Rail Kitchen + Bar - Represented tenant on New American kitchen/bar concept inspired by the luxury social clubs of 1940's New York City.
The Aero Club - Represented buyer on owner/user purchase of one of San Diego's most iconic cocktail lounges.
Verant Group - Facilitated strategic sales of various venues between Pacific Beach, Hillcrest, and Carmel Valley.
Pouring With Heart - Represented tenant on acquisition of nightclub business and negotiated new long-term lease for Seven Grand location in North Park.
1060 Garnet Avenue, LLC - Represented owner by facilitating sale of their business and negotiated lease with new tenant.
American Hospitality Partners, LLC - Represented both tenant and landlord on a new lease for prominent 6,000 SF restaurant in Pacific Beach.
Baja Sharkeez Restaurant Group - Represented tenant in acquiring off-market pub location in Huntington Beach.
RMD Group - Facilitated strategic sales of various venues between Pacific Beach and East Village.
Sunset Restaurant Mgmt Group - Represented client in multiple off-market restaurant purchase opportunities involving sale/new-lease negotiations.

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Paul graduated from San Diego State University while earning a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, with an emphasis in Advertising and an Allied Discipline in Marketing. He currently lives in Del Mar with his wife, and outside of work enjoys spending his time out in the water surfing, cycling, stand-up paddle boarding, playing tennis, and drinking obscene amounts of coffee.

Nate Benedetto

Nate Benedetto began his brokerage career in 2005 before starting Next Wave Commercial with Paul Ahern in 2016. Nate has a personal relationship with most of the retailers and restaurateurs in the downtown, uptown and coastal communities. These relationships allow Nate to more effectively match properties with tenants and buyers to maximize value and close more deals.

With over 300 lease and sale transactions completed to date, he has extensive experience representing tenants, landlords, buyers, and sellers. His trend analysis and knowledge of the urban and coastal neighborhoods allow him to outperform the competition and keep his clients looking one step ahead. He is also the founder of URBANIST (www.urbanistguide.com), which is a fold-out guide to locally owned restaurants, bars, and boutiques within San Diego's downtown & uptown neighborhoods.

Originally from Chicago, Nate received his Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from Indiana University. Outside of work Nate likes to surf, snowboard and spend time on the beach and in the mountains with his wife and kids.

Cam Lacey

Cam Lacey began his real estate career working with Canter Companies prior to Next Wave Commercial. Joining Next Wave Commercial Cam will continue to specialize in Tenant Rep/Site Selection throughout San Diego County and leasing/sales advisory in the La Jolla Coastal Community.
His focus, market insight and tenacity have helped his clients secure locations in highly competitive sites throughout San Diego County. Cam graduated from the University Of Tampa with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. Outside of work you can find Cam in the water surfing or outdoors enjoying the Southern California Coast.

Dino De Salvio

Dino De Salvio is a graduate of the University of San Diego with a degree in Real Estate and Business Administration. Born in San Diego and raised on Maui, Dino has a passion and appreciation for fine dining in beautiful places. His background includes a junior asset management and investment analyst role for a private real estate investment firm, which acquired income producing commercial and residential properties. As an avid surfer, and former president of the USD Surf Team, Dino has lived in New Zealand and traveled all around the globe searching for perfect waves.

With a unique perspective on cultural styles and architecture, along with his business education and background on the investment side of real estate, Dino serves as a well-rounded real estate consultant.
